Purchase of certain Repulic Group assets including Republic Paperboard Company in Lawton, OK. The Albuquerque gypsum wallboard plant is expanded to an additional 40%. Centex Corporation announces spin-off of its 51% interest in Centex Construction Products (CXP). Steven R. Rowley is named President and CEO of Centex Construction Products. January 2004, marks the completion of the CXP spin-off, new name becomes Eagle Materials Inc. and trades on the NYSE under the symbol "EXP". Eagle Materials purchases remaining 50% interest in the Illinois Cement Company joint-venture.2005 - Present
The Illinois Cement plant is expanded by 65%. Eagle announces plans to build a gypsum wallboard plant near Georgetown, SC. Plans also announced plans of a 65% expansion to Mountain Cements's plant and to expand Nevada Cement's plant to double capacity. EXP stock performace is strong and a 3-for-1 stock split is announced. EXP reports highest 3Q net earnings in company history, followed by multiple record highs for annual and quarter revenues. Texas Lehigh Cement increases its cement capacity with a 50% investment in Houston Cement Import terminals. EXP added to S&P Smallcap 600 Index. Georgetown, SC wallboard plant opens for production - on time and under budget. American Gypsum's gypsum wallboard products attain GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality® status and GREENGUARD Children and SchoolsSM certification.
